Ulf Pedersen recently joined our group as a postdoc, after working at UC Berkeley for two years. Marta Montes finished her master thesis and will start working as a PhD student in the group after a short break. Moritz Antlanger, who already completed an extensive student project in our group, will start working on his master thesis this autumn.
Two group members were recently featured on the webpage of our university: Emanuela's review article on patchy colloids (link [German only]) and Arash's PRL on cluster crystals under shear (link) were both covered in the news section.
Our offices are getting quite crowded again: Marta Montes, who is on an Erasmus stay at the Vienna University of Technology, joined our group as a Master student. Also, Giannis Georgiou recently arrived to take our second COMPLOIDS PhD position.
After spending two and a half years as a postdoc in our group, Daniele is leaving us to take his new permanent position at Université Montpellier 2. We wish Daniele all the best; we will miss him around here.

We are very happy that Emanuela is joining us again. After working with Christos Likos in Düsseldorf for one year, she is now starting her Lise Meitner Fellowship in Vienna.
Recent work by Gerhard Kahl and Hartmut Loewen on density functional theory was featured in the Highlight Papers 2009 of the Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter.
